Due to continued growth R & D Construction are looking for Quantity Surveyor to join their existing team. This is an important role within the company, and you will play a significant role in this successful and growing business.|
Reporting into the Senior Surveyor your principal responsibilities will include:
Commercial management of a portfolio of projects, to assist with the maximisation of profit and cash flow.
Maintain high levels of client engagement and contribute to developing partnership style relationships.
Ensure that company standard procedures are followed and assist with the continual development thereof.
Working closely with the procurement team to ensure prices used are up to date, and resource requirements are achievable.
Liaise with contracts management team on day to day commercial/contractual issues to ensure valuations are complete and accurate and that claims are maximised.
Prepare monthly financial reports on your projects in the required format.
Ensure compliance with the contract terms and conditions on all commercial matters.
Measure and certify sub-contract works for payment, including liaising with Sub-contractors on matters of adjustment/dispute.
Ensure that retentions held are properly claimed at the earliest possible opportunity.
Develop solid working relationships with site based teams.
Assist with the training and development of other staff.
Assist with the maintenance of a zero tolerance approach towards unsafe acts at all times.
Previous experience within a similar role/sector, (experience in the groundwork's and civils infrastructure industry would be advantageous).
An understanding of the well-known forms of contract to promote high quality risk management and to maximise cashflows.
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying.
Self-motivated, able to work alone and as part of a well-established team towards the companies goals.
Able to work to deadlines and maintain a high level of organisation/accuracy.
Experienced Microsoft Excel/Word user plus familiarity in using dedicated Surveying I.T. packages
Ability to work on multiple projects and demonstrate a "hands on" approach.
Comfortable with on site measurement and ensuring that appropriate documentation is available to support claims made.
Salary will be commensurate with experience, and will include the provision of a company car/allowance
