Business/IT Project Manager: Detail
•Generation of Project scoping documents for all new projects
•Define project management procedures up front and ensure stakeholder/resources understanding of procedures
•Guard against scope creep through change control documentation and sign off processes
•Key Stakeholder approval of significant impact scope change requests
•Identification of key business risks and costs up front
•Meeting Management including structured agendas, action point planning and review.
•Creation and maintenance of project plans, including taking full responsibility for the quality and accuracy of timescales to deliver 'fit for purpose' solutions.
•Working with the Management Team and Business Stakeholders to address requirements, determine timescales, costs, issues, risks and deliverables.
•Actively manage all change through a clear change management process. Including managing changes to current operational systems so as to minimise the impact to project delivery.
•Working with stakeholders to manage non-technical projects to and to identify cross project dependencies and deliverable roadmaps, milestones and critical paths including scheduling work to tie in with existing IT development project plans
•Ensuring that business risks and information shortcomings are identified and managed through to successful conclusion.
•Partaking in regular Business and IT development meetings, documenting issues / actions and updating plans for forwarding to stakeholders
•Ensuring that on project completion high quality documentation is produced for both IT systems and business processes.
•General project assistance including arranging meetings, writing agenda, chasing action points and updating plans as required.
•Assist the Managing Director in the planning and analysis of new business ventures as required.
•Effective evaluation of the required resources to attain project goals
•Managing and overseeing time spent on project milestones and deliverable to ensure they are completed within the specific timeframe and to budget
•Integration and Management of 3rd party business resources into company project plans
•Continuous business review to identify future risk which can effect plan priorities, resource demand and timeline, budgetary shifts
•Working with the Managing Team to make business critical re-phasing decisions and rebalance plans accordingly
•Work with business stakeholders to ensure delivery/benefit expectations are met.
•Host project debriefing/lessons learned meetings and resolve shortcomings for future project plans
•The provision of Management Information Reporting, budget, timeline and project KPI reporting for the all key members of management and other project stakeholders
Software testing cycles
•Working closely with IT test resources to ensure release ready functionality as part of phased implementation
•As part of the any software test cycle, work with the IT/Systems Development Manager and key project stakeholders to review issue status and determine release ready, further phase, or further test cycles required and re-work project plans accordingly
•Pick and implement procedures from an appropriate methodology (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Test Driven Testing) for any given software project to ensure as many budget, time & fit for purpose project risks are eliminated from test cycle plan phases.
Day to day project related human resource administration
•Utilise collaborative project management systems and implement time recording solutions to facilitate project stakeholder plan updates
•Work with HR/Systems Development Manager to integrate sickness, holiday, flexitime and other project relevant day to day HR administration into companies best practice project management disciplines
