WPR now have a number of Technical Support Engineer positions available with our client in Belfast city centre. They are seeking experienced Technical Support candidates who have a passion for technology and keep ahead of technical advances in their line of work.

Our Client:

You will join company who have just recently announced their presence in Belfast and exciting plans for growth in the months and years ahead. With a team of Engineers already in place they have commenced work on a "Greenfield" project to build a complete new platform for their main solution. Such is the expertise already recruited for the new office they have been given full control of technical decisions and advancements they plan to make in the world of Analytics and Big Data.

Your Responsibilities:

As one of the first hires for the Technical Support team in Belfast you will join them in a 1st Level Support role which their Senior Management see as critical to the continued success of their business as this is one of the only roles that will come into contact with their customers on a daily basis. Your duties will include the following:

* Deal with 1st Line support issues via phone, email and remote access
* Take ownership of support calls through to resolution or point of escalation
* Troubleshoot, Debug and Replicate issues where possible and ensure ongoing updates to customers
* Work closely with Product and Engineering teams on reported defects and suggest enhancements based on customer interaction and feedback
* Monitor customer trends and share these with the business

Your Experience:

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate the following criteria:

* BSc Computer Science or related subject
* Minimum 3 years' Technical Support experience for enterprise level software and services
* Experience of writing SQL commands and running scripts
* Knowledge of Linux/Unix command prompt and ability to navigate directories, search logs
* Familiar with Web APIs (How to call and understand responses)
* Experience with Web Servers, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Windows
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with customers at all levels
* Demonstrate problem solving skills and willingness to take ownership of support issues


Depending on experience and interview performance this role offers a salary of up to £38,000 with excellent benefits packages and a perfect city centre location.
