About the role

This exciting role in our Consumer Insights team will be to lead the analysis, modelling and transforming of complex consumer and sales data into actionable insights in support of customer experience and business process improvement.


Agree and manage a plan for consumer behavioural and segmentation data analysis and modelling to support the organisation's decision making
Data mining and statistical analysis to identify potential revenue opportunities
Develop and implement measures of consumer value to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks for the organisation and to support and challenge decision making
Develop and implement models to direct and refine targeting to achieve commercial objectives, e.g. acquisition, profitability and retention
Ensure that appropriate outputs and recommendations are communicated effectively to key stakeholders across the business and enable the organisation to derive maximum benefit from this data and analysis
Internal expert on the organisation's data, segmentation, analysis and modelling to ensure the most appropriate and effective methods are used
Review and combine outputs and insights from different sources, conferring with colleagues, to provide joined up insight and build the bigger picture to guide business decisions

About Consumer Insights & Analytics at Abcam

The Consumer Insights & Analytics team, based in Cambridge (UK), is a rapidly developing department. We have already made a real impact on the business and interact regularly with the decision makers within the organisation influencing our future direction. Our aim is to empower other teams with insights to advance consumer understanding and drive the company mission. We do this by gathering and analysing relevant information on the wider market context, on life scientists generally and on Abcam customers, and communicating insights to the appropriate audience.

About You

You will be educated to degree level (2:1 or above) and come from a numerate background. You will have worked in a data analyst role delivering data management, customer insight and reporting solutions to large scale businesses and be looking for your next challenge. You will be able to perform deep thorough analysis of complex customer data and translate it into easily digestible and appropriate output to present to stakeholders throughout the business.

You will be an analytical thinker, who operates methodically, is inquisitive and has a keen eye for detail. You should be motivated by achieving your goals and delivering results. You will be joining a growing team, so you should be adaptable, quick to learn and excited by numbers, interpreting data. You will be the go to person, being seen as the technical expert in your area.
