We require the services of naval architects / marine surveyors to assist with technical input and client representation during the |
later stages of contract award through the ship building stages. We require appropriate oversight and technical input to ensure that
the vessels designs agreed at contract award stage are adhered to by the ship builders.
It is likely that the technical oversight assistance would be for minimum of 9 months for one vessel and around 18 months for other
The services of experienced marine design surveyors / architects / consultants would ensure that vessels design and build
specifications and any associated contract build documentation including cost - price / build schedules / changes / delivery times are
adhered to. High level activities would include client representation with the ship builders industry and some key tasks to include:
i. Finalised design and build specification(s) to meet industry class standards for the authorities chosen vessels including
monitoring of builders appropriate steps and timelines to achieve the earliest delivery / handover / disposal of the new assets.
ii. Technical vessels build advice and guidance on matters relating to vessels designs and build stages process.
iii. Following a contractually agreed build schedule, ensuring that contractual documentation such as technical design and
specifications are adhered to within time and budget.
iv. Naval shipbuilding professionalism & experience
Locations are primarily Cardiff, Aberystwyth, Swansea but depending on where the vessels are built then possible travel within UK, Ireland and Europe.
There are options to work from own location but travel to meet officials is highly likely at Welsh Government offices over the vessels build, sea-trails and delivery stages
