Our client is seeking a Utility Surveyor to carry out and document the identification and recording of Utility apparatus by means of detection, marking and accurately data capturing Utility Providers apparatus as instructed.
The role will be rresponsible to the Operations Manager who is the line manager, a designated Project Co-Ordinator or a Senior Utility Surveyor for delivering the required contract outcomes within the timescales and budget allocations.
This new role is paying up to £33,000 depending on experience and qualifications, a minimum of 2 years Utility Detection experience is required.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading or being an effective member of a surveying team on site to deliver all required contract outcomes.
Undertake all works safely.
Provide guidance through sharing experience, safe working practice, training & mentoring new or less experienced Utility Surveyors or Trainees on a planned competency programme.
Effectively plan and execute works to ensure that site operations are delivered safely and efficiently.
Liaise with clients and main contractors as necessary to ensure that effective 2 way communications are established and maintained.
Lead or work effectively with other Utility Surveyors and Trainee Surveyors in providing the Operations Manager, Project Co-Ordinator or Senior Utility Surveyor with completed survey reports to the required data quality format & output and within the required timescales.
Provide accurate Risk Assessments & Method Statements, undertake setting to work briefings and adhering to them on site, leading by example at all times.
Ensuring that site requirements are fully understood, executed and dynamically re-assessed and re-briefed to ensure effectiveness and responsiveness in the event that the planned job is subject to unforeseen changes.
Qualifications, Competencies & Experience:
- CSCS card is essential
- A minimum of GCSE grade A-E in Mathematics and English.
- Applicants must hold a valid driving licence for use in the UK as the role will involve travel to site locations.
- NRSWA certified.
- Minimum 2 years Utility Detection experience.
- Experience of using GPR as a method of detection
- Competent in use of Microsoft Office software suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Proactive nature and a desire to learn and develop self
