Engineering Systems Lead

We currently have a vacancy for an Engineering Systems Lead at our site in Portsmouth.
As the Engineering Systems Lead, you will be pivotal in supporting a new business improvement initiative to update our Enterprise Business System (EBS), leading the engineering aspects of the initiative to ensure the smooth transition of the engineering solution into the business. You will also perform the role of functional Manager for all INCOSE Systems Engineers across the Fleet Services business, with overall responsibility for their deployment into projects and career development.
This Executive engineering appointment presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced systems thinking engineer to make a real difference to our Engineering capability and for the right candidate, will provide invaluable experience en route to other senior engineering appointment as part of their career development.
Your main responsibilities as an Engineering Systems Lead will involve:
Developing the strategy to meet future engineering systems capability requirements across Fleet Services
Leading all engineering aspects of the EBS (Enterprise Business System) business improvement to ensure the smooth transition of the engineering solution into the business
Managing all INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering) Systems Engineers in Fleet Services including career and professional development, learning and development, reward and recognition
Providing specialist support to Fleet Services' bids and programmes as an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) or consultant
Managing performance of team through the (PDR) Performance Development Review process
Supporting internal and external Phase and Design Reviews as an Assessor and act as a Design Review Chairman as required by the Head of Engineering
Your skills and qualifications:
Degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering discipline
Professionally Registered (CEng) through a professional engineering institution such as the IET, IMechE, etc.
INCOSE systems engineering experience desirable
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in any of the following: System Lifecycle Processes (INCOSE 15288), Engineering Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) or Business Process Reengineering (BPR) or equivalent.
Ability to lead all engineering systems activity within Fleet Services including engineering aspects of our Enterprise Business System (EBS) business improvement initiative
Awareness/knowledge of current/future systems and processes used/planned to support Naval vessels (BAE, MoD, other industry)
