We are recruiting for a Senior M&E Project Manager for the total delivery of refurbishment, small works and renovation projects to a prestigious commercial Building Services contract across the North of England. This will involve the commercial management of the project operation with emphasis on cradle to grave, project and business generation and CDM compliance and delivery.|
• Deliver projects across the portfolio.
• Develop and deliver the pipe line of works to achieve the targets & required margin.
• Project implementation, development of brief, scoping, management of procurement approval process, delivery, & handover & warranty management.
• Responsibility for Health & Safety and CDM on relevant projects.
• Implementation & compliance with all statutory regulations
• Financial management & reporting.
• Business development.
The role is a permanent position with a basic salary of up to 55k. Package and bonus TBC.
Qualifications / Experience:
Ideally the job holder should have been educated to at least HNC, NVQ level 4 or equivalent full technical standard. Ideally hold a recognised qualification in project management.
Technical expertise, qualifications in an engineering discipline would be an important pre-requisite of the role.
Knowledge of key operational procedures, eg, project handbook, client procurement approval process and working knowledge of CDM ideally supported by IOSH and an awareness of Quality, Health & Safety and Safe Systems of Work.
Full knowledge of information technology, Microsoft projects, Windows, spreadsheets, outlook and use of mobile working etc.
Preferably a minimum of 5 years' experience operating as a Project Manager level within the building maintenance industry, ideally in corporate / commercial offices sector
Experience in managing projects of differing values and complexity
Experience of managing Health & Safety compliance including CDM requirements
Experience of estimating project costs, and presenting high quality tender documents to customers
Demonstrate IT literacy capability with Microsoft Office suite. Incl. MS Project
Experience of working closely within a team of people to delivering quality projects to stakeholders.
To perform survey and scoping works developing the brief into a working schedule of work .Produce project cost plans.
Obtain procurement board approvals and ensure all projects are submitted in line with the target CIP dates issued.
Submission of the procurement board papers to the required standard, in the correct format and in line with the deadlines issued to ensure that projects are approved in a timely manner.
Project delivery & implementation.
Handover & warranty management.
Financial management of each project and full P&L responsibility.
To ensure that all works undertaken are completed to client and good practice standards.
To support the Regional Projects Manager/Programme Manager in the implementation and delivery of projects & technical support services across the account in order to ensure high standard of service.
Liaising with Client on change control, planning, opportunities, risks and documents
Establishing/ maintaining consistent practices and standards adhering to the FM, engineering & project governance arrangements. Including project planning, reporting, change control, analysing risks and maintaining and supplying information to the risk register.
Providing input to ensure the project handbook contains the latest relevant information (processes, procedure, values etc.)
Ownership of project delivery including ensuring and management of inputs from all work streams.
Ensure the project tracker is updated weekly and submitted to the PMO as per the deadline. Reporting on any deviations from the plan/baseline information.
Reviewing project programmes, budgets and quality to ensure that projects don't fail to meet this criterion. If any projects are falling short, a corrective plan should be implemented to ensure that the projects are brought back on track.
Provide and maintain reports as required
To maintain regular contact with Client representatives and/or other important stake-holders/ sponsors to review and resolve any issues within projects.
To respond rapidly to any issues arising from a previous or live projects.
Provide regular updates and management information on project performance.
Ensure that the day to day operations within each project are conducted to the highest standards of safety taking account of all legislative and regulatory requirements (including CDM)..
To bring to the teams' attention any safety issue related to the project.
To implement regular H&S stand downs/toolbox talks and weekly site checklist as appropriate
To conduct day to day operations with due regard to environmental standards, legislation and regulatory requirements.
To ensure that the highest quality standards are applied in all areas of day to day activity in order to satisfy and maintain standards
