To act as a client representative in the inspection and reporting of electrical services installations (and Mechanical Services subject to the necessary skills and experience).
To ensure contractor compliance with Design Drawings, Specifications, Performance Requirements, Materials and Workman Standards
Liaise with and provide advice and support to the appointed Building Clerk of Works, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electrical Clerk of Works for each site and contract.
To provide advice and support to the Principal Clerk of Works in respect of appropriate technical approaches and information to assist resource allocations to projects.
To take an active role in monitoring time spent on jobs against available fee/funding and indicate when over expenditure, delay or additional work is apparent.
To comply with all requirements of procedure and practice as defined in the current QA Manual or established office policy.
To participate in the planning and implementation of strategic initiatives including the work of Task Teams.
To participate in Design Appraisals and Reviews to contribute to the objective of continuous improvement.
To liaise as and when necessary with other technical staff forming the design team, to ensure a full co-ordination and integration of mechanical services into the building fabric.
To carry out condition surveys of existing properties.
To carry out investigations into mechanical services installation defects.
To maintain the highest professional standards and work towards qualification/membership of the relevant technical/professional associations.
To maintain current knowledge and relevant certification of competence on inspection in respect of Gas Regulations and the Water Bylaws. To adhere to the office service and working standards charters.
To provide reports verbal and written, as requested and required, to ensure that the Principal Clerk of Works and relevant members of the design team are kept informed of the site progress/contractual problems/general feedback.
