Our clients are a leading medium sized construction contractor based in the West Midlands offering an extensive range of services to provide a complete construction solution and turnkey package. Due to recent success, they are currently looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their office to lead and manage their commercial team.|
Role & Responsibilities:
-Lead and manage the Commercial Team.
-Act as commercial point of contact for all live contracts and oversee and offer advice on all variation and job pricing
-Review contract documentation and valuations produced by the Trainee Surveyor prior to entering new contracts
-Ensuring that all reporting produced is accurate and completed to agreed timescales Oversee all monthly applications submitted by Surveyors
-Ensuring the project and programme contract, cost, quality and time targets are met
-Ensuring prompt and regular submissions of main contract payment applications and ensuring that subcontractor payments are dealt with fairly and in accordance with subcontract terms
-Supervising, mentoring and encouraging all subordinate staff in their personal professional development
-Attend internal and external commercial review meetings to review live tender lists and prioritise key tenders
-Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
-Manage the commercial aspects of subcontract accounts from procurement to interim and final account agreement
-Strive for continuous improvement of the Surveying Team, Buyers and the Company
-Manage commercial performance against business targets and KPI's.
-Ensure that the delivery team are briefed and have sufficient commercial support to monitor and react
-Ensure that policies are adhered to and that the requirements of legislation are met
-Keep up to date with new technology and legislation as appropriate.
-Preparation of monthly management and financial performance reports
-Assist with sales forecasting and budget
