My client is a Leading Regional Civil Engineering Contractor with several strategically placed offices throughout the UK.
Due to an increased workload in the South of England they require a Planner / Senior Planner to join their experienced Civils Team, initially on an £8M link road project which involves the construction of approximately 2 kilometres of carriageway, roundabout construction and the construction of a small bridge over a valley.
Working to the NEC contract (option B) those with exposure to Highways, Earthworks, Structures and Drainage would be of particular interest.
In addition, those with a working knowledge of Asta Power Project software would be at a particular advantage.
This job is expected to last for around 12 months and you will be responsible for the planning function on site supporting the Project Manager and the site team and reporting to a visiting Planning Manager who is based out of the company`s Head Office.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills
proven ability in Engineering Planning of either Highway Projects or Civil Engineering projects demonstrating a detailed working knowledge of construction methods and outputs of bulk Earthworks, drainage, pavement, highway structures or Rail, Coastal Defence, Water Treatment, Structures and the associated planning software
Capable of communicating the programme to the team and gaining buy in to a clear vision of what is required in order to deliver on the project objectives.
Experience of working alongside the commercial team to provide accurate reporting of the project position using Earned Value Management.
Good commercial awareness and thorough understanding of the change process under the NEC form of contract.
Implements best practice when it comes to progress reporting using Asta Power
Confidently works with the engineering and construction teams to develop detailed plans for critical works. Identifies interfaces and problem areas and can work solutions.
