CDS Recruitment are working with our client who are looking to recruit an experienced OOE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) Engineer on a temporary 2-3 month basis to cover sickness. The purpose of the role will be to work with the Maintenance and Facilities team to ensure, maximum efficiency of machines. Assist the team responsible for troubleshooting, investigating and identifying ways to fix machines to ensure optimum output and lean processes within the manufacturing facility, with a continuous improvements work ethic.
Duties will include:-
Analysing repeat machine faults, identifying root causes and putting in place preventative and/or corrective measures, which could involve improvements to processes, re-training, machine repairs/updates or new investment.
Continual review of OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) data. Liaise with Production and Maintenance team members to ensure accuracy of OEE information as a basis for update of QRCI board and Shift Reports.
When manufacturing stops, working with the maintenance team to identify root causes and put in place preventative and/or corrective measures for any future occurrences.
In partnership, manage new equipment investment; investigating options and putting together business cases for investment including training, costs, downtime.
Overseeing installation of new equipment on site; ensuring they are on time and on budget.
Manage and identify improvements to be made to existing equipment within the manufacturing facility.
Participate in the identification, production and implementation of essential documentation needed to ensure consistency of process, products and parts. Ensure procedures and practice in the provision of critical spares is well maintained and efficient deployed.
Striving to be the engineering expert who can identify ways that either machine or process can be improved to be more efficient.
Project management - create, manage and monitor the plan in line with machine, process investment as part of the project.
Assist the Maintenance and Facilities Department with equipment improvement activities.
Deputise for the Maintenance and Facilities Manager.

Essential Requirements/experience are as follows:-
Previously worked in medium/large sized volume assembly manufacturing environment with PLC controlled machinery.
Previously worked with specialist batch production environment
Maintenance and Facility engineering
Project Management
Maintenance - Experience of introducing new equipment
Maintenance - Experience of working with ancillary equipment
Supervisory experience within a Process or Maintenance environment
Process Engineering
Degree/Higher level qualification in an Engineering discipline
HNC/CGLI or Time Served in Mechanical/Electrical discipline
AutoCad - is able to create drawings and conceive an idea into an AutoCad drawing.
Knowledge of working time studies
Knowledge of PLC- controlled machinery
Good Problem Solving Skills
