Our Client: Manufactures green products and green energy using waste, waste water and wasted heat as a resource mine.
Provides tailored solutions for industry or municipalities to help them save and preserve resources.
They are working hard to create a future in which end-of-life resources are transformed into products that enrich our lives and can power our homes and industry.
The circular economy already represents 20% of their turnover and they are constantly developing innovative ways to develop access to, preserve and replenish resources.
The Site: Utilises High Temperature Incineration (HTI) to deal with challenging wastes that cannot be recycled or recovered elsewhere.
The rotary kiln incinerator is the largest of its kind in the UK and is also one of the most technically advanced HTI facilities in Europe.
It handles liquids (up to 10 tonnes per hour), gases (bulk and cylinders) and solids through a state of the art shredding, mixing and pumping system.
HTI is a proven solution for the safe management of hazardous organic chemicals and materials that are unsuitable for recovery or recycling. It is widely regarded as the best overall environmental option (BOEO) for chemical and confidential wastes.
The process heats materials to temperatures up to 1200°C, resulting in 99.99% thermal destruction efficiency.
The Role: Organise and Manage the site maintenance function, to ensure high plant availability and performance within approved budgets, liaising with operations staff to ensure a high level of service.
Play an integral part in the management of safety at the plant, including the requirements of the COMAH Regulations, participating in the Safety Committee and safety tours, as well as auditing key safety systems (e.g. Permit to Work) and collating all data on safety tests.
Manage and run the maintenance department, management of CMMS implementing planned preventative maintenance requirements.
Management and coordination of equipment maintenance - planned, breakdowns and overhauls within strict budgets, in line with company policy and procedures.
Manage and control maintenance sub-contractors in line with company policy and procedure.
Development and implementation of Group maintenance strategic practises.
Monitor and reporting on budgetary performance
Qualifications: Apprentice Trained Engineer/Technician
Qualified to HNC standard or above in a relevant Engineering or Scientific discipline
Extensive relevant experience will be considered.
Skills: Experience of Maintenance strategy tools, planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and the successful implementation of a cost effective strategy
Extensive health and safety knowledge
Proven experience of working at a managerial level
Fully conversant with steam raising and power generation is essential, preferably within an Energy from Waste environment.
In depth understanding of Pressure System Safety Regulations and Statutory inspection regulations.
Experience of working within a strict regulatory sector
Change management and process improvement experience
Implementation of new technologies and methodologies
