Job Title - Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer|
Location - Wirral
Salary -£30,000, plus overtime.
Shifts - 4 on 4 off (Days/Nights - 12 hour shifts)
Holidays - 200 hours + 72 hours for Bank Holidays.
Training - Siemens S7 (levels 1, 2 & 3)
Our client manufacture plastic bottles for the drinks, cosmetics and FMCG markets across 7 manufacturing plants, on 5 sites. Normally positioned at the end users site, they will match production volumes and supply their bottle and containers in real time. Their Wirral plants are positioned to deliver extremely high volumes of blow moulded bottles for shampoo and soap.
Their lines consist of multiple bespoke injection blow moulding and stretch moulding machines that are custom designed and built by a subsidiary to their business. These completely unique machines are capable of producing up to 500 billion bottles a year.

The Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will be focused primarily on Breakdowns, which account for 90% of the work day to day. The PPM system is fully computerised, with a full Continuous Improvement program running to further reduce downtime, however this is dealt with by the dedicated PPM Team.
Electrically the PPM Engineer will be Fault finding on electrical components using both a multimeter and PLCs via HMIs, changing electrical components, running new cables and trucking, changing motors, sensors and thermocouples. Occasional tasks from the PPM list may be assigned depending on work load.
Mechanically the successful candidate will be fault finding and changing mechanical components like Hydraulic pumps, hoses, cylinders and rams, valves, pneumatic cylinders and rams, hoses, valves and actuators, bearings, rollers, conveyors, slats, gearboxes, shafts, trunking, pumps and pipework, plastic pellet screw injectors, injector nozzles and vacuum transfer systems. There will also be Oil and filter changes, general greasing, strip down and rebuilding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. No machining, welding or fabrication is required.
To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:
Must have a recognised Electrical Qualification.
Must have experience performing maintenance tasks on Electromechanical systems.
Thanks to their excellent training program and the bespoke nature of their lines, the client is able to take candidates with no experience within an automated manufacturing environment. As such they are keen to speak to candidates who are looking to break into an automated production, including candidates who have recently left the Armed Forces.
