Our website will tell you that we are a world-leading provider of information solutions, enabling researches in the medical, scientific and academia space. However over the last few years we have been behaving very much like a data-driven tech company. Animating our data, making it interactive for our target audience on various platforms.|
We have an exciting opportunity within our Manuscript Submission System (EMSS) team for a Java Technical Lead based in our Kidlington, Oxfordshire offices.
The Elsevier Manuscript Submission System (EMSS) is the preferred workflow management system for book Editorial and Production. Use has grown sharply over the years. The system now handles more than 3,000 live titles from teams at 18 locations around the globe and is nearing the projected limits of its original stated scalability. EMSS is also now used by groups other than Editorial and Production: Global Rights (contributor agreements management), Marketing, and even some non-book teams. Although there have been some recent infrastructure improvements, such as moving to cloud hosting, the EMSS technology stack was last upgraded in 2010, when the system was used by fewer than 400 books.
