An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to work within Central Government on a contract basis. This position is based London, initially until April 2017, offering up to £650 per day ltd.|
Working closely with Business Change and Product and Process to develop a change programme that reflects all aspects of legal, policy and IT change needed over the next 2 plus years.
Programme management of Customs Brexit, ensuring effective management of all aspects of the programme delivery schedule, resource planning, programme costs and risks.
Driving the delivery of the programme to ensure that all elements meet the planned delivery schedule and escalate variances as required.
Ensure that robust and strategic contingency planning is in place.
Preparing and maintaining schedules of activities and events, taking account of dependencies and resource requirements.
Identifying and monitoring project risks, planning and implementing responses to them and responding to other issues that affect products.
Leading on the consolidation & documenting of the fundamental components of projects (scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities and issues & quality requirements) through the delivery of Project Initiation Document, project proposals, programme plans etc.
Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of projects, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities that align with organisation practice.
Identifying and effectively managing risks, issues and dependencies.
Presentation of plans to senior stakeholders as required.
An experienced project management professional with experience of implementing new policy changes and a wide range IT changes.
Current Prince 2 or Agile project management qualification.
Significant and recent experience of programme management and transformation.
Experience of bringing a creative approach to tasks, identifying new ways of doing things and motivating others to improve ways of working.
Experience of managing cross-functional delivery teams to deliver quality outcomes within direct and matrix-management contexts.
Experience of training and developing colleagues to deliver or support others through transformational change.
