A multi-national company who design and manufacture motion control products requires a Senior Development Engineer to join a design team to work on technically challenging motion and motor control projects. Suitable for an engineer with significant experience of designing time critical embedded software.

Commutable from: Salisbury, Bournemouth, Southampton, Weymouth

Salary: £ 40,000 - £ 55,000 p.a. plus benefits

The Role

The successful candidate will report to the European Electronics Engineering Manager and lead software architecture and development responsibilities for particular product ranges.
Working in a globally distributed development team to design time critical embedded software for advanced brushless motor drive applications and responsible for developing motor current control software for ARM processors.
Working alongside other software and hardware development engineers to deliver projects with tight timescales.
Responsible for producing documentation and maintaining product development processes.
Occasional travel to customer premises or other company sites will be necessary to support projects.

The Person

Bachelor degree or higher in Electronic, Software or Electrical Engineering.
Extensive experience of developing time critical embedded software for motor drive applications.
Previous experience with design of motor drives or power electronic applications.
Experience in developing software for ARM processors to Misra C standards.
Experience developing hardware for motor drives for <100Vdc>Developing, testing and documenting embedded C code in accordance with recognised international standards such as EN62061, ISO26262, IEC61800 or IEC60601.
Background in software development for manufacture and test for commercially released products.
Good communicator with positive attitude and a willingness to mentor junior staff.
