As part of a small core team of Raytheon 6-Sigma Experts, we work with designated parts of our business to deliver R6s capability building, high-value project delivery and to build a culture of continuous improvement from executive to the shop-floor. Raytheon has a thriving and long-standing R6s history, and has a proprietary method and record of delivery of which we are proud.
The R6s team is small centrally, yet part of a much larger matrix organisation across global Raytheon. R6s sits with the Programme Deliver and Mission Assurance function, and is an enabler of many other functional team activities.
. Be the business tag for a significant element of the Raytheon UK business. Own the relationship management and delivery of R6s goals for that business. Track and report progress in R6s goals and benefits enabled to business leaders and functional R6s.
. Develop deep understanding of Raytheon business models and strategic imperatives to ensure alignment of R6s activities.
. Organise and deliver training to the workforce in R6s tools and methods.
. Coach individuals and teams to R6s project completion and certification as Specialist (Yellow Belt external equivalent), Principal Specialist (Green Belt)) and Expert (Black Belt equivalent).
. Take ownership of the Raytheon metric for Specialist certification. All Raytheon full-time employees must certify as specialist within the first 12 months of service. Raytheon UK targets 96% attainment of this as a key metric.
. Certification = training plus value-adding project delivery.
. Engage and align senior leaders to enable delivery of R6s goals.
. Work as part of the core team to improve and evolve R6s ways of working
Even though externally qualified, the successful candidate will be expected to complete the R6s development path, firstly through certification as Specialist (via small project delivery), the via Expert training and certification (Black Belt). Whilst we recognise and value the external experience and qualification, immersion in the Raytheon method is vital to delivery, and to demonstrating to the workforce that R6s is for everyone.
A degree of travel will be required to Raytheon sites across the UK, and occasionally
