Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Multimedia Analysis and Archive System (MAAS) Senior Software Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nations fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to build and further advance GDMS software systems and applications. Key Responsibilities
  • Member of the Software Engineering Team
  • Lead efforts in the architecture, design, implementation and performance characteristics of the Multimedia Analysis and Archive System (MAAS) software
  • Plan, organize, direct, and monitor development and maintenance activities of the software team
  • Interact with and be accountable to the Program Manager for schedule and cost management of the MAAS software
  • Accountable to the Program Technical Manager for overall technical execution and delivery of the MAAS software
  • Collect and report appropriate Systems Specification Document (SSD) measures to the Program Measurement Analyst

  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers' changing business needs
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of software systems and applications, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve GDMS software solutions.

The MAAS Senior Software Engineer position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering or equivalent field and eight to ten years of related experience; or Master's degree and six to eight years of related experience.

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
