Responsibilities for this Position:

We have an immediate opening for a Mission Systems Test Engineer to join our team in our Seabrook, MD location. In this role you will have an opportunity to support our nation's premier space agency. GDMS employees work closely with high level civil servants in the best rated government agency in developing solutions for tomorrow's missions. As a Mission Systems Test Engineer you will work with collaborative teams to support and lead various government space missions. The Mission Systems Test Engineer will perform or lead System Engineering efforts in support of the NASA System Life Cycle. Typical tasks under limited supervision include:
  • Plan, develop, maintain and execute a timeline in support of I&T test flow
  • Identify test procedures and plans for development in support of I&T
  • Support hardware/software troubleshooting in an I&T environment
  • Prioritize test activities during I&T
  • Executing system level integration and environmental spacecraft tests for box level and system level flight hardware
  • Operating and maintaining spacecraft Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)
  • Support Product Design Leads (PDLs) and Systems Engineering Leads in the development of system level and environmental tests
  • Support developing and/or modifying test procedures and command scripts in the Systems Test and Operations Language (STOL) using the Advanced Spacecraft Integration and System Test (ASIST) environment.
  • Work with I&T Manager and PDLs to develop ASIST Telemetry and Command (T&C) database
  • Work with I&T Manager and PDLs to develop ASIST telemetry display definitions
  • Support launch-site activities including launch script development, periodic "Aliveness" testing, launch simulations, and on-console launch support for spacecraft power up and configuration on launch day

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or the equivalent experience is required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must have NASA Integration and Test experience
  • Must be able to work on site full time at NASA/GSFC
  • Must be able to work outside "core" hours to support test campaigns
  • Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced/rapid changing environment
  • Must be able to work well with a highly diverse/interdisciplinary team
  • Satisfactory completion of the National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required
