What is the purpose of the role?
The Technical Coordinator will manage specific activities within the Guildford area including leading on briefed projects and providing support on larger scale projects.
Technical Co-ordinators are dedicated experts focused on designing, coordinating jobs and project managing. They will use their technical knowledge to ensure that Field Technicians have the detailed instructions and all of the components they need to carry out their jobs. This is an exciting opportunity to join the East Thames Valley Water Production team where our constant focus is to provide high quality water, reliably whilst maintaining excellent health and safety standards.
Duties will include:
Co-ordinating briefed projects and activities, provide & deliver reports, presentations & analysis of data as necessary.
Working closely with a range of contractors to develop and deliver projects
Ensuring sites are operating at optimum plant and process performance achieving all internal and external output targets whether they be Statutory, Regulatory, Financial, Environmental, Quality or Health & Safety related.
Driving performance through the use of the SAP technical workbench, this looks at planning jobs but also the wider context of optimising how our work is organised, for example, performing O&M plan reviews.
Providing technical input and coordination into process work, for example complex process outages and events.
Taking real ownership of plant availability on site.
Making sure assets are responded to quickly, minimising down time and driving up overall plant availability.
Taking part in an out of hour coordinators rota. Understanding the costs associated with a job, and the budget constraints to work within.
Tracking CAPEX and OPEX spend.
Supporting the department by liaising or attending meetings with key internal and external stakeholders, as required.
Delivering excellent customer service and continuous improvement.
To be considered for this role you will need to have good experience of working in a water production operational role; ideally having specialised in the area of process, mechanical or electrical engineering. Ideally, you will have experience of technical job design, planning and delivery. You will have extensive experience in a process related or utility industry together. You will need to be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to working to a high standard with regard to health, safety and wellbeing. IT literacy is essential as all work is managed through the SAP system. User training for this and other standard software systems will be provided, however previous experience will be advantageous. You will also demonstrate a good business/ stakeholder awareness, together with an innovative and creative approach to problem solving and strong team working and influencing skills. Strong inter-personal skills are essential, and we would look for evidence that you can demonstrate this. It is a position where you will need to build strong working relationships with a range of people, for example, managers, technicians, controllers, contractors, Water Quality, Health and Safety team etc. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
This role is based at Shalford Water Treatment Works, near Guildford. We are offering a salary of up to £35,500, depending on skills and experience.
