What is the purpose of the role?
The Scheduler is responsible for the scheduling, dispatch and completion of maintenance investigations and repair work for the Engineers. They manage the schedule and ensure work is appropriately prioritised, passed to and completed by the field teams. Ensuring any emergency work is appropriately actioned within time. In this role you need to understand how the scheduling process operates in the Click system and how the SAP system interfaces with Click for scheduling & dispatch processes.
This is a fast paced and varied role offering a high level of responsibility; you will look after a large geographical area and multiple stakeholders. There are plenty of opportunities for training and development and fantastic progression routes within the wider business.
The Scheduler will:
Ensure field staff has enough work in schedule.
Be responsible for the identification and allocation of reactive work to the appropriate technician for resolution.
Deliver the highest levels of customer service, enhancing customer experience in line with the customer experience statement - Trust, Easy, Care model.
May be required to assess and investigate issues of network failure to manage operational expenditure.
Support operational events and pollution incidents as required.
Liaise with Planner to understand issues with schedule and refine plan to reduce manual intervention.
Contact Technicians / Team Managers to confirm the current scheduling status for all stranded jobs.
Monitor urgent unscheduled priority work throughout the day, assign to resources and follow up with phone call.
Manage work which is unable to complete and follow up any actions.
Have an understanding of the controlled release of work volumes through each month and actively engage with the Planner regarding volumes.
Active searching for jobs that cannot auto schedule, understand reasons and reassign those jobs to an appropriately skilled resource.
Telephone technicians to ensure they know that a job has been assigned and dispatched to them.
Escalate instances where it is not possible to contact the technician to confirm he / she has received the alarm.
We are looking for someone with similar Scheduling / Planning / Coordinating experience with great geographical knowledge. You will be able to work in a fast paced, high volume environment whilst being able to manage and deliver SLAs. An understanding of Sap & Work Management Processes and Systems is preferred but not essential. Excellent communication skills are needed as well as strong attention to detail.
This role is based at Reading Sewage Treatment Works, Berkshire. We are offering a salary of up to £19,500, depending on experience.
