Director of Sales JOB SUMMARY The Director of Sales provides leadership for the daily Sales operation by training and motivating the Sales Team Members while ensuring the sales presentations are being conducted in an ethical and professional manner, according to Company compliance and standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Lead and influence a successful and experienced Sales Management Team. Manage the entire Sales unit, including Sales Managers and Vacation Counselors by consistently adhering to the Company's performance management programs and conducting analysis to determine performance levels against Corporate objectives. Establish the performance goals for all Sales Management Team Members along with the relevant action plans aimed at supporting the achievement of such goals. Accountable for attracting, retaining, training, and motivating a diverse sales force on a constant basis. Responsible for the achievement of the established targets in regards to VPG, net sales volume and closing percentage of the relevant sales site. Exceed client expectations and experience, dealing with complaints immediately. Supervise a team of Vacation Counselors to carry out presentations of company products and services to current and potential clients in an ethical and professional manner. Develop sales action plans and schedules for each sales presentation; assist representatives in overcoming client objections. Add creditability as a higher authority figure, negotiating with clients to close sales of the Company's products and services. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism when interacting with fellow team members, management, members, owners, and prospects. Execute and manage every element of the sales process on an individual level and build a top-notch sales team. Attend all requires sales meetings and training. Complete all required Company training/compliance courses as assigned. Adhere to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. EXPERIENCE A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Vacation Ownership industry. A minimum of three (3) years of Supervisory experience in the sales industry. SKILLS & ABILITIES This position requires the ability to understand and follow both oral and written instruction as well as have knowledge of and properly use Standard English and follow office practices. Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers. Specific skills and abilities include, but are not limited to the following: Ability to conduct oneself in a professional and unbiased manner at all times. Must be able to clearly explain the product and sales contract. Thorough knowledge of the vacation ownership industry, trends, company products, and services. Strong working knowledge of RCI and II's products and services. Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics driven environment. Ability to operate general office machinery (i.e. computer, copy machine, fax machine, etc.). Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Understand how to develop and implement business strategies. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent time management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes. Able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external Customers. Able to use sound judgment; work independently, with minimal supervision. Ability to speak competently and confidently in a public setting. Performs well with frequent interruptions and/or distractions. Intermediate math skills.
