Greenacre Recruitment have been asked to assist a Social Housing Provider in Norwich to Recruit a Gas Engineer / Team Leader, the role will support the effective management of the client's statutory responsibilities in relation to gas testing maintenance and servicing ensuring that a comprehensive approach is developed to the reduction of risk.

Job Purpose
• Ensuring Compliance statutory obligations and regulatory undertakings are delivered with regards to health and safety compliance for, but not limited to: Gas and Carbon Monoxide; Domestic and Commercial; Solid Fuel
• Carry out as required surveys of its risks in relation to gas and develop effective plans for the management and reduction of it risks in line with policies and procedures
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure all obligations in relation to servicing, testing and inspection are delivered
• Ensure that all relevant service, testing and inspection process is carried out correctly, remedial/follow on works are undertaken on a risk basis, that the service, testing and inspection process is fit for purpose, and the records and certification is appropriately recorded, and that data is validated and current
• Carry out quality inspections of gas servicing, testing and installation work to ensure that the work undertaken is to the correct standard and that contractors are competent in the carrying out of their work
• Undertake as required on site assessments of Contractors Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes
• Provide as required detailed technical advice on the requirements in relation to gas safety and ensure that the approach to risk reduction is in line with best practice.
• Where required effectively manage and administer landlord compliance contracts, setting and delivering performance standards, the pro-active monitoring of progress, the effective resolution of issues, and the delivery of value for customers
• Support the Strategy Unit in the delivery of a comprehensive programme of training in Landlord Compliance that ensures that has the required capacity and capability to deliver its obligations and strategy
• Maintain accurate and effective communication with your line manager (to include the provision of reports and presentations) ensuring that they are regularly appraised of planned changes and developments
• Undertake regular CPD (Continuing Personal Development) in accordance with specialist body requirements

Experience and Knowledge Required
• Experience of managing gas health and safety compliance within the social housing sector
• A thorough understanding of current gas regulations for domestic and commercial gas, gas safety procedures, RIDDOR procedure and CP12 requirements
• Knowledge of CDM (Construction Design Management) Regulations and other related housing regulations/ law and how they apply within the context of statutory health and safety compliance
• A demonstrable commitment to achieving customer service excellence
• Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• A full UK driving license
