A blue chip plant hire company is looking for a transport manager for their northern office.

Reporting into the Northern Operational Director will hold a broad remit and will have responsibility for the all sites encompassing the below:

* Managing all processes and systems attributable to maintaining a fully compliant vehicle fleet re maintenance

* 'O' Licence responsibility

* OCRS management

* Management of all auxiliary / non-road going equipment / assets, ensuring 'test & inspection' regimes are adhered to re PUWER / LOLER regulations

* Management of stock levels & suppliers for auxiliary equipment / Uniforms / PPE

* Expertise in STGO abnormal load regulations and operations

* Embrace use of available vehicle telematics / tracking technology to ensure accurate utilisation data is reported / charges accrued

* Ability to maintain / enhance existing relationships with external service providers, seeking out further efficiencies / cost savings where feasible

* To follow and help lead all company and depot specific Health and Safety procedures

* Conduct periodic staff reviews - Managing team development, aligning goals / objectives to drive positive performance and behaviours

* Maintain full understanding and compliance of the companies ISO 9001 / ISO14001 standards, plus develop, maintaining and audit effective procedures and compliance

* Primarily based in Salford - However business requirement dictates that ability to visit all national operating centres is essential

* Working towards and supporting Company goals, values and objectives

The Successful Applicant

The successful Explore Operations Manager will possess the following attributes:

* Hold a CPC National qualification

* Construction/ Plant industry experience (Desirable)

* A good level of understanding and comprehension of the English Language

* Strong IT skills - Outlook / Excel / Word / Power Point

* Excellent communication skills - Converse effectively at varying levels

* Organised, able to multi-task and prioritise

* Able to work under pressure

* Team player but able to work alone under own initiative

* Flexible
