Job Title - Senior Programme Engineer (Civils)|
Location - London, James Forbes House
Rates - £250 - £300 per day (negotiable)
About the role / project:
The Thameslink Programme is a £6.5bn rail infrastructure project that will enhance the rail network to and through London, delivering clear and tangible benefits for millions of people. A Senior Programme Engineer is required to join the Network Rail programme Office at James Forbes House. The Central Engineering Team (Engineering Data Management) is responsible for the assurance of quality of Survey, CAD, Asset Data and Utilities Management throughout the Thameslink Programme. The team is also responsible for producing policies and procedures that support its assurance role. Engineering Data also provides a value added service to the Programmes project teams as well as promote new technologies and processes throughout Network Rail.
What you will do:
Lead the development of the procedures, specifications and good practice for the topographic surveying, and the provision of fixed reference points and ensuring those documents are kept current and relevant to the stage of the Programme delivery
Lead the survey team directing the provision and undertaking of surveys to support projects and enhancement schemes, including the creation of contiguous network-wide grids of permanent reference points to facilitate the application of absolute co-ordinate geometry systems.
Lead the specification of the requirements for, and oversee delivery of, a contiguous and consistence geometric grid based upon absolute co-ordinates validated, in accordance with European inter-operable requirements and best practice.
Manage interfaces between surveys carried out on behalf of Network Rail and outside party surveys, including the identification and resolution of any survey anomalies.
Leading the Utilities Management section to ensure assurance to Programme procedure by end of the 2016-17 financial year.
Working with the Programme Engineering Manager to identify opportunities to efficiently hand back to survey and utilities portfolio to Network Rail within Programme timescales
Your experience will include:
Chartered surveyor required for reviewing documents
Qualification: RICS registered is essential
Familiar with modern surveying techniques and the assurance of survey related products; point cloud data management
Knowledge of NRs processes and procedures
Someone who has done role before would be ideal, however a good understanding of Network Rail is advantageous
Experience of the Thameslink programme is again, advantageous
