Laboratory Manager (Metals) |
£dependant on experience
Our client is a leading Materials testing business, specifically with market presence in the Aerospace industry, and they are currently looking for a tenacious results-driven Lab Manager to join their Somerset site on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will lead and manage the Metals Department in line with lab objectives and overall Aerospace business strategy. The Laboratory Manager (Metals) will forge the critical link between sales, technical, project and commercial staff with the primary aim of providing the client with exceptional service.
The role will ensure that technical integrity is maintained all whilst utilising resource and capacity to maximise the labs sales potential, with main responsibilities including ensuring full compliance, within the Metals area, to the company Quality System and procedures, assuming HSE responsibilities within the Metals area of the Lab and direct line management of all direct reports within the team.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working within a management role in a Lab function/Metallurgy department. This could be working as a Lab Manager, Senior Metallurgist or any other role where management experience has been gained in a similar metallurgy function. We can also consider applications from applicants with a background in Metals or Composites due to the varied nature of our client's business.
Ideally, we'd love to hear from people with previous experience of working in a UKAS 17025 Laboratory who hold a Science related degree, ideally within Metals and/or Engineering.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking business and make real changes in an established Laboratory. Our client is offering a competitive salary in line with individual experience.
