Severn Trent is a fast-moving FTSE 100 company, where innovative ideas and commercial progress are vital. Our 5,000 people care deeply about what we do: delivering an essential service to 8 million customers and protecting our region's water today, tomorrow and in the long-term.

About the Role:

The objective of this Flooding Analyst role is to provide a local lead on managing existing and future flood risk alike, with the aim of developing effective partnerships with local key stakeholders in order to support Severn Trent Water's AMP6 business plan and long term strategy which sets out to effectively manage surface water and reduce sewer flood risk. Whilst the key stakeholders are Lead Local Flood Authorities, the Environmental Agency and local planning authorities, other stakeholders include highway authorities, land drainage authorities and third sector organisations.

Primarily this role will manage engagement with these stakeholders on a wider range of flood risk management matters including, but not limited to, strategies, schemes, plans and policies. Furthermore you will manage external stakeholder engagement on surface water management as well as raise awareness of STW so that external parties fully understand how we operate as a company, our responsibilities, our objectives as well as how we are structured.

About You:

With experience of a wide range of flood risk management skills including wastewater infrastructure engineering, planning, national flood risk policies and funding mechanisms, the successful candidate will also proactively manage a diverse range of tasks, based on experience of analysing and interpreting detailed information. Experience of working in the water industry is key for this position, including being familiar with current flood risk management policies and legislation such as the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for being considered for this role, as is the ability to engage with a range of external people and organisations, ranging from local flood action groups to MP's. The successful candidate will ideally be someone who is able to work independently whilst also establishing strong links with external stakeholders and internal Severn Trent Water multi-disciplinary teams.
