Reporting to the Operations Manager
Monday to Friday 37 Hrs per week
To provide project planning and support for inter-company projects.
To work individually and within a team environment of multi-disciplined specialists and engineering disciplines to achieve programme results and customer deliverables in a timely and accurate manner.
To raise, scope, plan and co-ordinate procurement and manufacturing tasks in support of electro-mechanical engineering projects and to provide input into cost estimates.
To liaise with inter-company customers on requirements, resolve issues, report on progress and provide underlying project support to project managers.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their project / planning skills and progress in this field.
Key Result Areas:
Ensuring customers are delighted with the service and support they receive.
Assisting in the execution of projects to ensure they are delivered on time, to budget and meet our customer's quality and delivery expectations.
Ensuring that the projects are properly planned to meet customer requirements.
Maintenance of project records and data as directed by the Project Manager in accordance with the customer requirements and company procedures.
Assist the Project Manager in the management of inventory to support the customer service.
Checking of drawings for accuracy against requirements, preparing bills of materials using a computerised system (Experience in using MS Dynamics AX 2012 would be an advantage).
From the bills of materials and drawings prepare computer manufacturing tasks for the assemblies.
Prepare the route sheets against the works tasks, these would be multi-operation including sub contract processing on some items. The route sheets would detail manufacturing operations highlighting any special requirements.
Produce picking lists for stores.
Production control, liaising with the workshops on progress of tasks.
Forecasting of deliveries in line with company / customer expectations for inputs into monthly reviews.
Configuration control, tracking of drawing changes and concessions.
Liaison with other departments.
Inputs for estimating and forecasting of bids/tasking activities.
The role holder would be expected to have the following skills, experience and attributes:
Engineering background with minimum qualifications of NVQ3, ONC or equivalent.
Possess strong interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
Experience of production and engineering practices.
Be prepared to accept responsibility and work autonomously.
Flexibility to respond to changing business needs.
NOTE: Candidates will be required and must be eligible for UK Security Clearance Checks.
