Working with nationally recognised food manufacturer, Futures are recruiting a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for one of their lucrative sites in the Carlise area.
The role has been designed by the business to manage all aspects of health, safety and environment and to ensure the site mains a good level of health and safety awareness.
This Health Safety and Environment Manager responsibilities
To lead the Health and Safety Agenda in connection with the site senior management team, delivering a safe place to work.
To provide H&S management reporting to agreed deadlines
To advise on statutory changes in health & safety legislation
To ensure all legislative requirements are met.
To deliver the LTIR site targets and drive forward the site action plan.
Responsible for the coaching of HRS Waste water treatment
To monitor and evaluate health and safety performance against KPIs and report and communicate to group and the site.
To ensure the sites fire prevention precautions are complied with, and review fire risk assessments
To facilitate the H&S Committee on a monthly basis and ensure minutes are produced for each meeting
To ensure that risk assessments/safe systems of work requirements are met
To liaise with site HR & Training Officer to ensure that operational training complies with Health & Safety legislation
To deliver and work with the site on delivering a recognised accreditations for Health & Safety / Environment
Deliver the 4P's Health & Safety process
Proactively work with other areas of the business to develop SHE culture
Management and investigation of environmental complaints from third parties
Strategy development to ensure compliance within food safety legislation
Management of the site overhead waste treatment
Negotiation of the environmental service agreements/contracts
Proactively develop regular SHE reports
With a proven track record in health and safety management backed up with IEMA and NEBOSH qualifications, the successful candidate will ideally come from a manufacturing/FMCG environment. You will need to have experience of SHE management process within a manufacturing environment (ideally food) and have experience with environmental management systems.
The successful Health Safety and Environment Manager will have previous knowledge of waste management, internal EMS auditing, Environmental legislation and compliance. It would be desirable that the successful candidate has Level 3 Food hygiene, Intermediate HACCP and a good knowledge of BRC standards.
They will be able to demonstrate the ability to control budgets, communicate effectively with all areas of the business and concentrate on continuous improvement initiatives.
