General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for an Earned Value Management Cost Analyst to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The selected candidate will analyze cost/schedule performance and resource data management for GDMS. This position is responsible for providing cost and/or schedule management and analysis for small Independent Research and Development (IR&D) or engineering projects or larger programs in a supporting role. The Earned Value Management Cost Analyst will support the development of the project/program time-phased cost and/or schedule baseline within the project/program parameters in conjunction with the project/program team. The Earned Value Management Cost Analyst will analyze program performance (historical and predictive), monitor the forecasted completion data, and support recommendations made to project/program manager and leads. The Earned Value Management Cost Analyst is an individual contributor taking direction from manager or team lead. Work is closely supervised.

Duties and Tasks:
  • Collect, update, and analyze program performance data, prepare historical and predictive measures, and review results and recommendations with program manager and program leads
  • Maintain and status the schedule
  • Identify and analyze the program's critical path and driving paths to schedule specific milestones; review results and recommendations with program manager and program leads
  • Assist in preparation of program review documents and customer required documents
  • Coordinate forecasted Estimated at Complete (EAC) data with Finance organization
  • Assist in the development of a time-phased budget and/or schedule to meet all contract and program objectives
  • Update program time-phased budget and/or schedule and required documents associated with internal and contract changes
  • Foster an environment of trust and teamwork: build collaborative relationships
  • Communicate professionally and effectively
  • Work on one or multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Interface with program's Control Account Managers or Integrated Product Team leads and the Program Manager primarily at a single location
  • May be a team contributor on a larger program or an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requirement program

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates should demonstrate sophisticated problem solving skills, strong analytical expertise and the ability to maintain the integrity of GDMS business solutions.

The Earned Value Management Cost Analyst must have a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or in a related specialized area or the equivalent, and zero to two years of related experience. Applicants with a master's degree also qualify.

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
