GDMS has an immediate opening for a Principal Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to join our Scottsdale AZ development team. The position provides an opportunity to develop signal processing algorithms that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. The Principle DSP Engineer will work with collaborative teams of DSP, Systems, Hardware and Software engineers to develop various GDMS and client technologies. Principal DSP Engineers research, design and develop signal processing algorithms working closely with the team. In addition to defining the requirements necessary for the system architecture and hardware, Principal DSP Algorithm Engineers are responsible for integrating the algorithms into GDMS' hardware units and evaluate system performance through simulation and test.
Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.
Candidates must have extensive knowledge of algorithm development for the statistical analysis of signal parameter measurements utilizing techniques from Detection & Estimation Theory, Multivariate Statistics, and/or Machine Learning. Candidates must also have extensive knowledge about Matlab with DSP, Communication, and related tool boxes.
The Principal DSP Engineer position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least eight to ten years of related work experience in DSP algorithm development. Applicants with a Master's degree and a minimum of six to eight years of related experience are also eligible. Specialty areas include communication theory, digital communications, radar theory, signal processing, and random signal theory.
Department of Defense Secret with TS/SCI security clearance is required at the time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
