Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), a market leader and technology innovator, is seeking talented professionals to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers.

We are hiring for a Mid-Level Embedded Software Engineer to support the program. The program is a mission focused effort and successful team mates are those that excel in tackling the difficult technical issues we encounter.

The Mid-Level Embedded Software Engineer should have a minimum of five years of strong C programming experience and software/system development work experience. This person should have expertise with at least two (2) or more of the following areas:
  • System Requirements Analysis
  • Software System Design
  • Software System Development
  • Software System Integration
  • Software System Testing

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of software systems and applications, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve General Dynamics Mission Systems' software solutions.

The Mid-Level Embedded Software Engineer position requires a Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, or a specialized area or equivalent field and five to eight years of related experience; or Master's degree and three to five years of related experience.

TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

The individual shall have at least five (5) years of work experience in three or more of the following areas:
  • Developing embedded software systems in assembly and C
  • Experience with Python or Perl scripting languages
  • Developing embedded software systems in one or more of the following operating system environments: Unix, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or psos
  • Experience with operating system internals with one or more of the following operating systems: Unix, Linux, Windows, VxWorks, psos
  • Working knowledge of common protocols/standards such as TCP/IP, SDH/SONET, ATM, MPLS/GMPLS, Ethernet, Carrier Grade Ethernet, SS7
  • Low-level programming of device drivers in a Unix, Linux, or Windows environment
  • Bit-level data analysis
