General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Software Engineering Technician to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems' employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The Software Engineering Technician will assist our software engineers in the development of software throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by maintaining, upgrading and improving our software tools (such as Coverity, Parasoft, Artisan, Eclipse) where knowledge of installing/upgrading software is required. This includes coordinating with other engineers to acquire requirements to upgrade these tools as well as executing and testing these upgrades. . Furthermore, this technician will be testing our software on the target system which may require off shift work. This technician will also maintain and upgrade our software project workbooks where a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel is desired. This technician will be become our trainer on these tools for subsequent new hires.

The Engineering Technician position requires an associate degree and a minimum of one year related work experience.
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
