The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Department Test Program for all M&M assigned Ship Alt installations performed by the Alteration Installation Team. Duties include development of Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) to conduct work on Ships Systems per Ship Alt Technical Work Documents (TWDs) and verification of work boundaries are safely isolated and tagged out IAW Tagout Users Manual (TUM). Individual will participate in Readiness to Start preparations and insure all required eDLDR rolls for STO, Work Control and Test Directors are covered for each Ship assigned. Candidate will be responsible for supervising 6 to 10 employees, maintaining their qualifications, training and assuring all work onboard ships assigned is conducted safe and in accordance with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and EB Shipyard Standard Procedure (SSPs). Responsibilities include verifying all TWD work is properly isolated and as required all Initial Voltage Verification (IVVs) are performed prior to releasing work to the Trades. Individual will be responsible for safe conduct of Test Phase TGIs and assuring any special Watertight Integrity or Safety of Ship is identified to and receive authorization from Ships Commanding Officer prior to conduct of testing. Candidate will review Work Packages for VA Class, SSN 688, SSGN, TRIDENT and SEAWOLF planned maintenance, alterations, emergent work, corrective maintenance and overhaul installations. The work is onboard submarines, supervising EB Test Directors, Test Engineers and Work Control work force. The candidate will ensure work is performed efficiently and in accordance with Ship's drawings/work procedures and company policies and must have a thorough knowledge of electrical, piping, ventilation, mechanical processes, procedures and components. Candidate must be willing to travel to and from other Shipyards and support extended work assignments up to a year or more as needed in the continental US. Candidate must be experienced in Virginia Class processes, Special Emphasis Program, SUBSAFE, Fly By Wire and DSS-SOC qualified to perform this assignment. The candidate is expected to contribute to the improvement of site goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, and Continuous Improvement.
