WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of a Supervising Traffic Engineer for our Colorado Springs, Colorado office.

The successful candidate will possess experience appropriate to a senior-level traffic Engineer and will provide technical support and lead tasks in transportation engineering design, traffic operations analysis, transportation planning and ITS. The ideal candidate will have an educational background in traffic engineering principles and methodologies and transportation design.

Specific duties include:
      • Transportation and traffic design
      • Lighting, Signal ITS, signing and striping design and operations
      • Traffic engineering analysis
      • Operations analysis for arterials, intersections, freeways, ramps and interchanges
      • Transportation planning. Experience with corridor studies and alternatives analysis is desirable
      • Technical writing
      • Project manager
      • Marketing support
      • Coordination with other engineering disciplines
This individual will also assist in development of proposals, presentations and business development efforts.

Job Requirements
      • Experience with Microstation is highly desirable
      • Experience in ITS design, traffic signal design, intersection design, pavement marking, signing and striping design, as well as preparing complete PS&E construction drawings is also desired but not essential
      • Proficiency in VISSIM and Synchro is a plus
      • Local project experience highly desirable, especially CDOT, municipalities, and planning organizations in the Colorado Springs area
      • Familiarity with CDOT Traffic Design standards, Roadway Design and Access Management Manuals desired
      • Experience managing and directing tasks and performing QA/QC is required
      • Applied project experience in the fields of traffic and transportation engineering and transportation planning required
      • Professional Engineering license in Colorado or ability to obtain within 3 months is required
      • Minimum education requirement is a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering
      • A Masters Degree in Transportation is preferred
      • Local candidates highly desirable
