WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff has an opening for a Consultant III to join our Advisory Services group. Advisory Services offers strategic and management consulting services to support our core business and to directly serve private clients to help them resolve their most challenging problems. Our team operates throughout the life cycle of an infrastructure asset, its supply chain from start-up to maturity, with a particular emphasis on the core markets of transportation, energy, power, and buildings.

We provide front-end consulting and management services to clients that procure, develop, manage, finance, and invest in infrastructure and property assets. Specific areas of focus include project and policy development, financial and economic analyses, business process analytics, and asset and organizational management.

We are recruiting highly motivated, self-starters with an interest in infrastructure to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary management consulting team. We seek problem solvers who combine strong written and verbal communications skills, demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills, experience in advising public and/or private clients, and the ability to develop innovative solutions independently and master new concepts quickly to deliver high quality work.

Based in Sacramento, CA, the successful candidate will be part of a management consulting team working on national and international engagements, including the California High-Speed Rail Program. Within the California High-Speed Rail Program, the candidate will join the Strategy & Innovation Team reporting to the Director of Strategy & Innovation. In this role, the candidate and his / her team will support the client's CEO and CFO by managing analytic work that guides strategic planning and decision making.

This position also offers opportunities where the successful candidate will work on engagements to advise public sector clients on the funding, finance, operational performance and delivery of major capital projects and a variety of related infrastructure management and policy issues. This position will entail tasks such as analyzing needs and opportunities, evaluating alternatives and priorities, developing the business case for infrastructure investments, analyzing project and program funding and financing options, implementing new management and business processes, reviewing and interpreting federal and state legislation and guidance, quantitative analyses, and providing strategic support in all phases of infrastructure planning and project development. Finally, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong management skills, lead projects and coach a team of associate consultants.

Job Requirements
Requirements include:
      Bachelor's degree with a major in business, management, economics, finance, civil engineering, or related field required
      A minimum of 7 years of experience
      A minimum of 2 years management consulting experience in business strategy, organizational design, cost reduction, and/or process reengineering
      • Experience from top-tier consulting firms highly preferred
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present analytical results and recommendations
      • Demonstrated strong analytical and quantitative skills, including practical experience with spreadsheet modeling
      • Demonstrated experience conducting research and presenting analytical results to stakeholders or clients
      • Ability to synthesize problems, think creatively, work independently and deliver high quality work with minimal supervision
      • Proven ability to work effectively with internal and external teams at various levels
      • Highly comfortable with MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and other analytical and data management tools
Desired Qualifications:
      • Advanced degree in business, management, finance, economics, public policy, or related field is desirable
      • Experience from top-tier consulting firms highly preferred
      • Interest or experience in the infrastructure industry and related sectors is preferred
      • Evidence of leadership qualities and ability to network with clients and others in the field
      • The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately
