FDRsafety is currently seeking candidates for a Safety Manager in Hamilton, Ontario. Qualifications:At least 10 years of safety experience required.. The skills necessary to manage detailed reporting processes- strong computer skills in all Microsoft Office applications is a mustContinuous record of training/education in the areas of safety management and OSHA complianceBCSP certification - CSP, STS, OHST, CHSTExcellent communication skills - verbal and writtenThe ability to work independently - train, teach, coach and mentor interested parties in safety and health conceptsWillingness to work long hours The candidate will further ensure that all employees and subcontractors are properly trained and equipped to safely perform their respective assignments. The successful candidate will maintain a proactive environmental, health and safety initiative that involves all levels of employees and will incorporate a safety mindset into everyday activities. The candidate will be responsible for the day to day activities associated with managing and supporting the client business activity. The candidate is responsible for the planning, directing, and implementing tactical organizational environmental, health and safety initiatives in order to ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment on sites. The successful candidate maintains good working relationships with all levels of personnel and will quickly respond to questions and/or concerns related to environmental and safety issues. · Provide direction to operations in safe work practices on the jobsite · Resolve any safety issues for clients · Correspond with client to ensure that the client is kept updated on all EHS activities · Maintain compliance with Safety & Environmental Policies and all applicable client, state and federal safety rules, policies and regulations · Ensures that pre-employment safety training is completed by all employees · Creates and maintains employee safety training files · Conducts daily safety inspections and audits · Conducts daily Job Safety Analysis meetings · Performs and documents the performance of equipment inspections · Investigates, reports and follows-up on all work related injuries and accidents · Distributes and maintains all personal protection equipment to ensure that every employee has the protection that they need and that it is maintained in a safe condition · Ensure that chemical hazards are well controlled and that Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are maintained and available for review.
