The ArcelorMittal Orbit is recognised the world over as part of the successful 2012 London Olympics & Paralympic Games. It is now a visitor attraction in its own right and has recently installed the World's longest tunnel slide. It is situated within London's newest visitor destination - Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with its amazing array of parklands, waterways and iconic venues and is adjacent to Westfield Stratford City - Europe's largest urban shopping mall.
At 114m tall the ArcelorMittal Orbit is the UK's tallest sculpture, designed by artists Sir Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond. It offers unique views over London from two viewing platforms and is also establishing itself as a great place to hold private events and is home to the UK's highest free-fall abseil.
We are looking for an Event Sales Manager to deliver maximum sales for this exciting visitor attraction This is a full time role and on offer will be a salary up to £35,000 per annum (dependent on skills and experience) plus a bonus of up to £10,000 dependant on achieving targets.
The main duties and responsibilities are to deliver high volume of event sales through:
Developing a comprehensive marketing plan to maximise sales
Developing and managing relationships with all event organisers and partners
Working with the marketing team to create campaigns relevant to the sectors
Representing the ArcelorMittal Orbit at key industry events, associations and event shows
Managing a set budget to effectively deliver return on investment
Exploiting joint ticketing opportunities with Park events and other local attractions
Creating mutually beneficial relationships with commercial partners for joint promotions.
Relevant Degree (or equivalent experience)
GCSEs at A-C in Maths and English
minimum of five years event sales experience, at least three of which at a senior level
Significant experience of event marketing
ommercial management and delivering to sales targets
Experience of managing events or commercial contracts
Significant budget management and reporting experience
Making commercial decisions
Managing creative, including photography, design and print
Excellent written English, and experience of both writing and proof reading
Digital marketing including website management and social media
Contract management, monitoring and review processes
Delivery of timely comprehensive reports including data analysis
Product development - in line with research and market trends
Budget management, maintenance of excel spread sheets and monthly financial reconciliations
Experience within the tourism/hospitality/events sector
Knowledge of the London visitor economy
Experience of working for a governmental or public sector organisation and the protocols associated with this would be an advantage
Experience of both B2B and B2C marketing
Partnership working at both operational and strategic levels
Promotions and price reductions at key moments
Database management, CRM and relevant emails and direct mailings to different audiences
Experience of developing new reporting procedures
