My client is looking for a Flooding Engineer to join their flooding team in Leeds. |
Provide project and technical management support to senior staff to help them deliver to programmes and budgets
Specific role accountabilities include: Providing technical input on a wide variety of flooding and drainage projects as part of a wider project team. This may consist of: • Flood risk management strategies and reports; • Feasibility studies and option identification and assessment for flood and drainage problems; • Outline and detail design; • Report and drawing preparation; • Provide project and technical management support to senior staff to help them deliver to programmes and budgets; • Assist in developing and maintaining excellent client relationships You may be attend and contribute to project meetings with your senior colleagues internally and with clients. Pursue your own continuing professional development under guidance from Line Managers with a view to working toward professional membership. Ensure you operate in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environmental and quality standards. You work may require travel in the UK or work in client offices.
Qualifications Ideally, the candidate with have a Civil Engineering honours degree of 2.1 or above. But we are equally flexible and will consider candidates with other Engineering, Environmental or Numerate Science related subject. Knowledge / Experience The candidate will have 4 years plus experience in undertaking similar roles within the flood risk management sector, ideally gained within a consultancy environment. We would expect the candidate to be progressing their chartership with a relevant professional body and be looking for their professional review within 2 years. Technical / Business Skills / Ability Your role will involve supervising and undertaking the flood risk management projects for both internal and external clients. You’ll be a capable problem solver with good time management skills and ability to work unsupervised at times. You will be a self starter used to working in a collaborative team environment.
