Senior Project Manager, IS/IT Infrastructure Transitions Position Description With the emergence of cloud computing, virtualization, and mobility, CGI is well aligned with market trends and demands. This is a highly skilled role; transitioning IT services, know-how and people in a large and complex outsourcing engagement. Effective IT transition management ensures seamless integration and requires a focus on maximizing business availability. To be successful in this position you will have a great depth of experience with multiple, successful IT Transition projects of similar scope and size to CGI's projects. Your future duties and responsibilities If you are a transition expert, this is an opportunity for you to continue to develop your expertise, participate in complex projects and be a part of a team of experts. This role will work with clients in a variety of industries across our Western Canada business unit; specifically, in Calgary. To be considered as a Senior Project Manager you will have proven, quantifiable and demonstrated experience delivering expected project margin and profitability; maintaining healthy management of your projects by mitigating risks and defining proactive resolution plans for addressing issues; ensuring your projects are auditable; and ensuring at all times, you are contributing to client satisfaction throughout the delivery of your projects. Responsibilities Obtain, validate and understand the cost model and project profit margin for every project you are assigned to before kick-off; Use standardized tools, templates and processes (CGI methodology - client partnership management framework - CPMF) to manage your projects; Define project team structure, request resource assignment and allocate team members to client-mandate; Establish project schedule, manage project efforts and actual to ensure on-budget delivery; Establish project communication plan and deliver regular status updates, including weekly portfolio dashboard updates; Obtain client approvals on all expected deliverables (project plan, change requests, architecture document, acceptance documents, etc.); Log and manage all project risks and issues; ensure proper risk mitigation and issue resolution plans are defined to avoid any project delays; Monitor/track project costs and confirm revenue recognition on an ongoing basis; Apply proper and timely change management process; Understand, communicate and manage project scope; Manage your projects on time and on budget; Maintain a positive relationship and communications with project clients ensuring maximum client satisfaction; Meet all deadlines to produce accurate recurring deliverables/activities; Comply with CGI's audit, records and retention policy by maintaining up to date project documentation; Contribute to the portfolio management responsibilities to assist the portfolio director. Required qualifications to be successful in this role PMP Certification 10+ years of progressive experience delivering large, complex IT/IS projects in enterprise class environments Progressive experience throughout the IS/IT industry in various technical roles culminating into Project Delivery including experience participating in RFP / RFI proposals Must have demonstrated and successful management and delivery of at least 4 outsourcing/transition infrastructure projects of medium to high complexity of 3,000 to 10,000 person days of effort generating revenue between $3m to $10m+ Demonstrated and successful hands on experience executing various activities to deliver projects, such as: the project plan, the work plan, a risk log and management, a communication plan, an issue log and resolution, change requests, etc Demonstrated and successful experience planning, organizing, managing and communicating the activities to ensure the project objectives are met at client, team and executive satisfaction Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience Attributes Applies good management of activities, control and quality assurance processes Engages all players; individuals, teams, clients, suppliers, etc Provides pertinent and precise information to appropriate players Highly organized, collaborative Takes a consultative approach Nice To Have Data centre consolidation project experience Experience delivering Transition services as a Professional Services provider *LI-AG1 At CGI, we're a team of builders.
