Title: Manager Quality & Inventory Control This is a permanent role with our client based in Mississauga. This role requires a process expert that will be supporting DC inventory control, receiving, outbound order auditing, and quality inspection processes. Will be the key point of contact between the warehouses and the buying, store operations, and finance inventory teams on matters within areas of process expertise. Will have Direct-line supervisor to Support Analyst and dotted-line (functional) leadership to DC Inventory Control Coordinators Things You Need to Have: APICS CPIM certification or equivalent work experience College diploma or university degree in supply-chain related field preferred Minimum five years of Supply Chain experience in a high-SKU (10K+) retail distribution environment, with particular experience with industry best practices in the following areas: Inventory control (cycle counting, variance analysis and reconciliation, process troubleshooting, conducting annual physical inventory counts) Receiving processes Inbound quality control inspection Outbound order auditing Stock rotation / inventory age management Experience with tier one E.R.P. and W.M.S. systems (e.g. Microsoft Navision, JDA, Manhattan, Highjump) Functional leadership of a distributed team within a matrix organization Implementing and maintaining KPIs in a multi-site environment Inventory forecasting and warehouse capacity planning Experience developing inventory forecasts and reports to track inventory at the SKU level across multiple warehouses Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English Advance user skills in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Intermediate skills in MS Access desired Interest and ability in improving efficiency through continuous improvement methods Exceptional analytical skills Strong customer focus Strong project management, planning, presentation and influence skills Hands-on "roll up sleeves" approach Experience facilitating meetings and workshops. Ability to develop and present required training materials What you will be doing: Developing/improving, documenting, training/implementing, and certifying DC compliance with SOPs that mirror industry best practices in areas of process expertise Establish, maintain and monitor KPIs (e.g. order accuracy, inventory adjustments, warehouse fill rates) to track effectiveness in each area. Identify area(s) of opportunity and facilitate local, cross-facility and/or cross-functional teams to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement. (e.g. conduct root cause analysis to decrease mis-picks and errors) Supervise Supply Analyst Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required, e.g.: Inventory turns and product age Warehouse space requirements Inbound receiving capacity requirements Inventory slotting based on velocity Warehouse shortage root causes Works with buying, finance, and store operations departments to control inventory costs by identifying excess stock, unusual distribution trends on a SKU level basis and providing regular forecasts as well as recommendations for corrective action Provides relief support to the Warehouse Leadership Team during vacation or other periods.
