Our client is a privately owned Construction company who are based in Northern Ireland and deliver award winning projects across sectors which include Commercial, Defence, Custodial and Education. Due to their heavy portfolio of upcoming projects there is now an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to join their team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Technical Director will be responsible for the design management and coordination of a high profile project within Northern Ireland. Using your ability you will review buildability and support the design team with value engineering options. You will manage the design process, preparing detailed procurement programmes and maintaining information release schedules. You will attend regular technical meetings to ensure design team is in line with budget, programme and technical constraints and manage activities within the tender and delivery team.
What you'll need to succeed
This is a chance for you to demonstrate your strong technical ability and develop innovative design solutions. You will possess a third level qualification in either Architecture, Construction or a similar discipline and have a working knowledge of relevant building regulations. You will have at least 5 years' experience of managing and coordinating large scale commercial projects on site. You will be highly skilled using AutoCAD and it is extremely desirable that you have BIM experience. You will have strong communication skills and experience of liaising between architects, contractors and engineers.
