The Pre-Sales Engineer is responsible for the delivery of technical pre-sales activities. Using a consultative approach you will transfer industry, technical and product knowledge to the customers via good written, verbal and presentation skills. It is expected you will contribute to sales productivity and deal flow by securing the "technical close" in complex solutions.
You will also assist in all levels of technical account planning and accompany sales account managers on visits to customers. As part of a bid or account team the Pre Sales Engineer contributes to the development of high quality, professional, formal sales proposals as well as presenting and differentiating product offerings at a technical level from the competition. Internally, the pre-sales Engineer will contribute to product knowledge and provide consultative support in specialist areas to others.
Contribute to sales proposals, bill of materials and technical account planning.
Attending customer meetings with a sales team member and providing technical expertise.
Contribute to the ongoing development of product and solutions to ensure we are presenting relevant and current technical knowledge to our customers. Skills and Experience
To be considered for the role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Strong and solid experience in a pre-sales Engineer or technical sales role.
Very familiar with Solution selling as a sales methodology
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Technical Sales certification with Avaya, Unify or another major unified communications platform.
Strong familiarity and technical competence with traditional Voice technologies.
Broad, solid working knowledge of current IT technologies, related to Unified Communications.
Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services.
Ability to conform to shifting priorities in spending strategies, product demands, purchasing and timelines through analytical capabilities.
Cisco CCNP Collaboration Certification.
At least 5 years of experience in a technical support environment working with Cisco products
Extensive exposure with hands on experience on Cisco Unified Communications applications (CallManager, Unity, Jabber, Expressway, TMS, Telepresence, Tandberg server)
Extensively worked on Cisco Video conferencing end points DX, SX and MX series
Extensive exposure to Voice over IP technologies and protocols (H.323, SIP, SCCP, etc.)
Extensive exposure in Video technologies, protocols format. (H320, H260, H264, CIF, SIF, HD
In-depth understanding of Voice Gateways (SRST fallback, H.323 and SIP dial plans, PSTN technologies, etc.) and Gatekeepers
In-depth understanding of Media Resources (MCU, Conference Bridges, Transcoding, MTP)
