Project Office Technician
1. Job Purpose
1.1 To produce high quality and cost effective design proposals for customers using the clients products to enable the Company to win profitable projects.
2. Position in organisation
Responsible to: Technical Manager
Direct reports: None
4. Principal Accountabilities
4.1 To produce drawings and bespoke designs to meet customer requirements.
4.2 Production of special extrusion and/or fittings detailed to meet the demands of the client's specified projects.
4.3 Undertake preliminary static calculations in accordance with the clients methods and design principles.
4.4 Answer email, fax and verbal technical queries concerning standard system applications from both fabricators and the clients employees.
4.5 Review customers' general arrangement drawings with respect to standard the clients systems principles and recommendations.
4.6 Assess applications for oversize windows and doors which are outside the clients standard recommendations.
4.7 Attend and contribute to customer meetings.
4.8 Produce thermal calculations utilising software provided by the client
4.9 Use the clients software in accordance with daily work requirements.
4.10 Assist the Technical Engineers to produce factory layout drawings of customer premises, based on sketches and information provided.
4.11 Assist customers with questions/enquiries relating to, but not specific to, the clients products, commonly known as 'building physics'.
5. Knowledge and Skills Required
5.1 Proficient in CAD; specifically AutoCAD.
5.2 Knowledge of Revit and an understanding of BIM.
5.3 Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to achieve project timescales.
5.4 Excellent written and oral communication skills.
5.5 Proven, relevant industry experience.
5.6 Team player.
5.7 Clean driving licence.
5.8 Knowledge of MS Office and Windows packages, ideally to intermediate level.
5.9 Willingness to be flexible in respect of working hours to meet the needs of the business.
5.10 A clear understanding of the principles relating to the workings of; window, door and curtain-walling systems.
5.11 Proven customer service skills via a variety of media; email, fax, telephone, face to face
