Operations Manager sought for a world class company at the forefront of their industry sector.

Our client in West Sussex is looking for an experienced leader to head up the Operations team, working within a design and manufacturing environment. You'll need to be highly motivated operations professional with the ability to work in pressurised environment, encompassing the overall responsibility for the business operational activities and continuous business improvement.

This position reports directly to the Managing Director and is a key role within the Senior Management Team.

Responsibilities will include leading the operations team and ensuring customer satisfaction and KPIS are met within a collaborative and ethical environment that supports employees and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

To apply for this position you should be able to demonstrate the following:

•Degree level or equivalent in a related subject area - Ideally Electronics Engineering and Production Management
•Considerable IT bias (MRP / ERP and Microsoft products)
•Trained in lean or six sigma techniques
•Broad manufacturing experience gathered across different functional disciplines.
•Direct line management experience of teams involved in assembling electronic products.
•Project management in the context of change in business strategy
•People management and development.
•Forward planning skills to anticipate and address any short, medium and long term issues.
•The ability to develop NPI plans by involving all aspects of the business as and when needed.
•Organisational, management and leadership skills to supervise, direct and assign work on a strategic and daily basis, monitoring progress and performance.
•Excellent inter-personal and conflict management skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Budget interpretation and management to optimise departmental expenditure.
•Motivation and mentoring skills to support staff development / succession planning
