About the Role:
The objective of the Maintenance department is to maintain, repair and calibrate the instrumentation and electrical plant to optimise both reliability and maintainability. The team maintain both plant and equipment on Sewage Treatment Works and sewage pumping stations in the South Staffordshire area. As a Maintenance Technician you will maintain and repair process control loops for pump control and chemical dosing, as well as carrying out the repair and maintenance of electrical motor drive systems and associated control systems, including inverter drives and basic motor starting. Furthermore the successful candidate will support the company's drive to continually improve safety standards. A key aspect of this role is being responsible for ensuring all activities are performed in a safe and diligent manner to ensure regular feedback on issues arising before, during and following activities that are carried out, whilst participating in a 24/7 stand-by rota.
With significant experience installing and maintaining instrumentation and electrical equipment, the successful candidate will also have experience in working with industrial equipment, such as motors, starters and invertors. Furthermore you will have experience in undertaking fault diagnostics and resolving issues in a timely manner. Likewise, you will have working knowledge of PLC control, ladder logic data paths and Scada type systems. A positive attitude is key to being successful in this positions, with the ability to work as part of a team but also alone using your own initiative. With excellent verbal and written communication skills, you will also have the ability to provide a variety of solutions to problems that may arise. Furthermore you will keep calm and work well under pressure, whilst having a flexible approach to work, with the confidence and ability to respond quickly to the variety of situations that can arise within this role.
