We have a permanent position with a market leading manufacturing company based in Fareham.
The company are leaders in their field with manufacturing operations distributed globally. Your main role would be produce engineering drawings for manufacture, translate engineering order of requirements into manufacturing information and ultimately oversee the design closely from concept through to manufacture.
Essentially this role involves the new product design and updating existing designs, including design and specification as well as outlining assemblies/requirements for the MRP system. Part of your role would be producing bills of materials and routings. assist with the development of manufacturing processes using engineering principles. Able to calculate basic engineering functions with an understanding of tolerances.
You will be able to use your understanding of mechanical manufacturing methods as well as assembly principles You will of course have a qualification in mechanical engineering or design related discipline to back up your experience in Design (HNC/HND or degree).
Using you knowledge of designing for manufacture to make changes and ensure a smooth transition of products from conception to manufacture.
They are looking for someone who has previous experience of design with metal fabrications (ideally both light and heavy gauge etc). Proficient with Autodesk Inventor or other CAD system and Design experience from concept through to production.
