Mechanical Fitter South Bristol Hospital|
I am recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to be based in South Bristo. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £29,500 per annum.
The role holder will report to the Site Supervisor and will undertake a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks on mechanical systems in a healthcare environment. Able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, you will be expected to provide a flexible and efficient repair and maintenance service over a wide range of services, mechanical plant and equipment within a wide range of locations and complex conditions from Wards and Theatres to non-clinical areas. You should be able to take responsibility and ownership for statutory inspections under your delegated area and keep records ensuring compliance with current legislation.
Duties & Responsibilities
•Report directly to the Site Supervisor and interface directly with CAFM for the issue and feedback of work on a daily basis.
•Record all details of planned and reactive work carried out
•Pre-Planned maintenance, testing, breakdown and installation work.
•Experience of maintaining mechanical systems including;
•Air handling plant serving ventilation systems for Theatres and general service areas.
•Experience of overhaul of pumps and/or air conditioning systems.
•Water systems including sanitary ware, fittings and drainage.
•Develop designated skills, where agreed with post holder to provide specialist on site knowledge for specific maintenance roles.
•Be flexible and adaptable in relation to working hours and provide maintenance cover by partaking of an 'On-Call' duty rota covering 24/7 approx. every 4-5 weeks
•Carry out all duties in compliance within statutory and HTM guidance:
•Within a maintenance environment the post holder will occasionally be expected to carry out any reasonable request for which they have received training and are considered competent.
•Assist in any other activity where a competent person is in attendance.
•Understand the principles of H&S management procedures.
•The Post holder may be required to carry various communication devices and use them in a way determined by the Facilities Manager.

•Time served craftsperson with a recognised mechanical qualification
•An effective communicator both written & oral
•To plan, prioritise and allocate work
•Self-disciplined and able to work on own initiative
