The Raytheon Trident Program is seeking a highly-motivated multi-disciplined engineer to join a system simulation group that is responsible for designing, developing, validating, and maintaining dynamic simulations and infrastructure for rapid assessment, integration, and test of complex systems. Simulation applications range from high-level behavioral simulations to visualize and evaluate system concepts, to high-fidelity real-time simulations and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) infrastructure to support development, integration, test, and sustainment of systems and software.

The selected candidate will join a multi-company team working at a customer site in Cambridge, MA. We are seeking a "simulation engineer" with demonstrated experience in developing HWIL systems. A working knowledge of MATLAB or other simulation tools is required, along with C/C++ software development in Unix/Linux and Windows environments. Linux kernel development and kernel drivers is also desired.

The ideal candidate would be familiar with interface specifications for SPI, I2C, MIL-STD-1553, RS232, RS422, and Ethernet, as well as synchronization protocols such as DDS and PTP. The ideal candidate would also feel at home working in a hardware electronics system integration and test laboratory, and would have experience developing and debugging real-time simulation models and/or emulators of hardware and instruments.

Required Skills:

  • U.S Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • Minimum 6 Years (with B.S./B.A.) or 4 years (with M.S./M.A.) of related technical individual contributor experience in real-time simulation software architecture, scheduling, debugging, and model generation
  • Proficient in C/C++, including Object Oriented Design
  • Proficient in Matlab
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with hardware/software integration and test of complex electronics
  • Ability to handle a dynamic environment and to coordinate actions. Fast learner. Demonstrates initiative, ability to work independently towards program goals.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined team, providing technical and schedule status to management, customers and fellow team members.
  • Proven customer-oriented personality. Experience presenting to and interfacing with customers (internal and/or external).
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills as well as excellent written/verbal communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in Linux environment
  • Experience with version control systems
  • Experience with Simulink
  • Experience with DoD programs, military electronics, military standards
  • Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
  • Familiarity with IBM Rational DOORS
  • Python scripting (preferably 2.6.x)

Required Education:

BS or higher degree in a related field: Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Physics; advanced degree a plus
